  1. Q. What is BGC/Hydroponic Equipment Cleaner® used for?
    A. BGC/HEC is an industrial-strength, all natural, non-toxic, biodegradable cleaner and degreaser. BGC Hydroponic Equipment Cleaner is designed for cleaning and maintaining trays, reservoirs, fixtures, pumps, tubing, benches, floors, filters, etc. BGC will clean all your equipment; grow area, greenhouse and gardening equipment. BGC will leave all your equipment spotless and looking brand new, while cutting cleaning time and effort dramatically.

     
  2. Q. Can BGC/Hydroponic Equipment Cleaner be used for other types of gardening equipment, especially for organic gardening needs?
    A. Yes. BGC can be used for virtually any type of gardening equipment, such as: clay pots, plastic accessories, all metal gardening tools, benches, tile, fountains, ponds, pools, landscaping materials and tools, aquariums, pumps, etc.

    A. Yes. BGC is incredibly more effective then all of the available conventional cleaning products, as well as the “so-called” natural cleaning products that are available today.

    A. Yes. BGC is most likely the safest, yet most effective cleaning product ever produced. BGC is safe around children, pets, plants and food.

    A. The ingredients. No harsh chemicals. No ammonia. No Butoxyethanol. No petroleum products. No chemical residue. No bleach.     A. Yes. Use a weak solution: 20>1 (20 parts water to on part BGC concentrate, or 1.5 oz. of BGC concentrate mixed with 30.5 oz pf fresh water)

     
  8. Q. Is BGC effective as an insect control?
    A. Yes. BGC appears to dissolve the exoskeletal system of all insects in about 20-30 seconds after they are sprayed, but does not harm pets, plants or people

     
  9. Q. Is BGC effective against green algae?
    A. Yes. BGC is the number one enemy of green algae. In fact, once a grower begins to use BGC to clean and restore their hydroponic equipment, green algae will become much less of a problem.

     
  10. Q. Is BGC effective against slime?
    A. Yes. BGC is extremely effective against slime. Use a 3>1 solution or BGC 32 oz. ready-to use-spray. Scrub until clean and rinse thoroughly.

     
  11. Q. How do you clean all the different pumps, tubing and fittings?
    A. The best and easiest way is to take all the pumps, tubing and fittings and place them in a laundry sink or bucket and fill up with warm water. Add 3-4 ounces of BGC concentrate and let soak for at least one hour. Scrub and rinse clean. Make sure you rinse thoroughly. Everything looks and performs as if brand new! The life of your pumps will be greatly extended, as BGC will keep them running in tip-top shape!

     
  12. Q. What is the best way to clean trays and reservoirs?
    A. First, disconnect all tubing and fittings. Remove pumps. Rinse out the tray or reservoir to remove loose vegetable matter, dust, dirt, dead insects, etc. Spray on BGC thoroughly and let soak for about two minutes. Scrub with scrubby sponge or brush. Repeat if necessary. Rinse thoroughly.

     
  13. Q. Is BGC effective on nutrient additive stains such as Liquid Karma, Florilicious, GH Flora Micro, etc.?
    A. Yes! Without question, BGC does the job!

     
  14. Q. What about cleaning air duct, dehumidifier, air conditioners and air conditioning filters?
    A. Yes, BGC will do the job! Remove filter and soak in a solution of 10>1 (10 parts water to one part BGC) diluted concentrate for one hour, or, if you have the ready-to use –spray, simply spray 5 squirts of BGC in a bucket with fresh water and let filters soak for one hour. Rinse thoroughly.

     
  15. Q. How can HID lights be cleaned?
    A. Yes. Using a very weak solution, wipe the entire fixture with a sponge or soft cloth. Polish with a clean soft cloth.

     
  16. Q. Can BGC be used to clean wood surfaces?
    A. Yes. Spray small amount of BGC on clean damp sponge. Wipe until clean. Polish with soft, clean rag, if desired.

     
  17. Q. Will BGC hurt my plants?
    A. No. Do not douse your plants with excessive amounts of BGC. BGC works terrific as a foliar spray and wash. Use a weak solution (12>1). Rinse thoroughly. Actually, BGC will help rid your plants of unwanted guests; such as: mites, aphids, thrips, spiders, whites flies, slugs, etc.

     
  18. Q. Is BGC acidic?
    A. No. BGC’s ph level is 8.3.

     
  19. Q. What is the shelf -life of BGC?
    A. Eight years.

     
  20. Q. Do I need to protect BGC from freezing?
    A. Yes. BGC will freeze at 26 degrees F (3.3 C).

     
  21. Q. Is BGC effective at cleaning Hydroton® pebbles?
    A. Yes. Hydroton® pebbles are best cleaned by simply soaking the pebbles in BGC and water for 2-3 hours. Stir or agitate vigorously. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Let dry.

     
  22. Q. What about cleaning TDS/PH meters?
    A. Yes. Spray on BGC on meter wand. Use sponge to clean. Rinse thoroughly.

     
  23. Q. What is the easiest formula for mixing concentrate and water for any particular application?

    B. The application chart provides the correct ratios for different cleaning needs. As an example: to mix a dilution ratio of 3>1 (3 parts water to 1 part BGC) use this simple formula:
     
    3>1 = 3+1= 4 br /> 32 oz. (32 oz spray bottle) divided by 4 = 8 oz. of BGC concentrate and 24 oz. of fresh water.
